Here are just a few of the projects Bonnie Gordon School is proud to be involved with:

On Sunday May 31, 2009 we hosted an art exhibition of beautiful wedding-themed cakes created by the students & alumni of the Bonnie Gordon School. This exciting event also included a Design Competition, Cake Design Challenge, Cake Tasting Contest, Demonstrations, Silent Auction and a People's Choice Award.

We were thrilled to receive over one hundred amazing cake entries. Overall, The Cake Show proved to be a huge success. The icing on the cake was that we were able to make a significant donation to The Stop Food Community Centre.

Located in Toronto's Davenport West neighbourhood, The Stop Community Food Centre (The Stop) works to increase people's access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds community and challenges inequality. The Stop's programs and services focus on the ways food can bring people together to break down social isolation and improve their quality of life. Programming includes community kitchens and dining, urban agriculture, a food bank, drop-ins, civic engagement and pre- and postnatal nutrition and support. All of The Stop's efforts are based on the
belief that food is a basic human right.

Bonnie Gordon School's head cake designer, Isabelle Loiacono and her wonderful assistant, Matthew Somers, designed a state-of-the-art Gingerbread House for our annual donation to Habitat for Humanity.

Their spectacular creation was coveted by hungry bidders in the celebrity online auction and we are delighted to reveal that their Winter Chalet won the highest bid!

Established in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Toronto is a non-profit, non-
denominational Christian housing organization. We welcome all people without discrimination to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with low-income families. Every 10 minutes, Habitat for Humanity helps a family improve their housing situation in more than 100 countries around the world.

Eat to the Beat hosted their 14th annual fundraising gala at Roy Thomson Hall in October 2009. The room was filled with 60 of Canada’s finest female chefs who brought together gourmet food and great wine to raise money for Willow Breast Cancer Support. The Bonnie Gordon School served delicious Callebeaut chocolate mousses at the event. We have participated in this event for the past 7 years and we look forward to the next one!

Eat to the Beat is the major fundraising event for Willow Breast Cancer Support & Resource Services.
